From the Chair
Once again, the District of Columbia Government is joining forces with United Way of the National Capital Area and the United Black Fund to help make our community a better, safer, and healthier place to live, work, and do business. We will launch our annual “DC One Fund” campaign the first week of October. Our goal is to raise a million dollars for our local charities, making this year’s campaign one of the most successful ever. To meet our goal, we are asking for your support of a worthy by contributing to the DC One Fund through biweekly payroll deductions.
We’ve all felt the impact of these tough economic times. Our local non-profit organizations have been impacted as well — and they need our support more than ever. With your generous contributions, these organizations will be able to continue in their efforts to offer health and human services to District residents and other persons throughout the region.
We ask that you sincerely consider giving a little to help those people in our community who have little more than hope. When we help our neighbors, we help ourselves and we enhance our community.
Shortly, a DC One Fund Agency Coordinator will be contacting you to discuss the details of this year’s campaign.
Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. We look forward to seeing you at the DC One Fund Campaign Kick-Off Event in October and agency fairs throughout the campaign, which concludes in December.
Sincerely,
